73. Who needs the Oscars?

When there’s the 2012 Writers Guild Awards: East!   SNL alum, Rachel Dratch, hosted the event while other hilarious comics, directors, and writers (such as Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey, and Judd Apatow) were there to liven things up.  Granted, the broadcast already happened but I’d rather watch re-runs of that than this year’s Oscars.  The only reason I’m tuning in is to see if Bridesmaids wins for Best Original Screenplay and Melissa McCarthy for Best Supporting Actress.  Other than that, I don’t think I’ve seen a single film that’s up for a nomination this year.  The Descendants?  Really, Academy?  I think you just love George Clooney.  Well, then again, who doesn’t.  Speaking of Clooney, don’t you think my Uncle Jimmy looks just like him?  Sometimes when I introduce him to people I say, “This is my Uncle George, uh, I mean Jimmy.”

(Here were are in Central Park last February. Doesn't he look like he's holding a script? So Clooney.)
