150. Driven By Boredom

While writing my daily post for CBSNewYork.com, I came across this photographer named Nate “Igor” Smith. This blogger/photographer rocks, mainly because of the way he captures street life in New York City. It looks like his website, Driven By Boredom, showcases his latest work (including the recent kick ass performance by Childish Bambino at Prospect Park Bandshell). Donald Glover’s talent seems like this infinite black hole…it just keeps going and going. Smith is having an art show in Brooklyn this Friday for those folks living on the other side of the country. Cheers to these two guys on this Thursday afternoon. Clink (that’s my “cheersing” sound effect)

I can’t remember where I came across photographer Irina Werning’s website but it certainly made me do a double take.  In her latest project called “Back to The Future,” she focuses on recreating photographs using the same subjects and scenes from decades earlier.  I was gonna say, that would have taken some serious Photoshop skills!

“I love old photos. I admit being a nosey photographer. As soon as I step into someone else’s house, I start sniffing for them. Most of us are fascinated by their retro look but to me, it’s imagining how people would feel and look like if they were to reenact them today… A few months ago, I decided to actually do this. So, with my camera, I started inviting people to go back to their future..by the way, this project made me realise Im a bit obsessive…” – Photographer, Irina Werning
