213. Who’s Funniest?

Rolling Stone just released their list of the 50 Funniest People Now. Some of my favorites made the cut (Mindy Kaling, Aziz Ansari, John Mulaney, Melissa McCarthy). This led me to realize that the Ellen’s and Rosie’s of the world are being pushed out for more quirky, character-type comedians. Take Lena Dunham. Would she have had the same success twenty years ago? Thank God for Kristen Wiig and the Portlandia duo Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein. They’ve led us into a new era of comedy. An era that I hope sticks around for a while.

*Note to self: Call Rachel Dratch and Amy Sedaris. Ask them if they want to make a digital short called On The Rocks. We could sip chilled Patron while discussing today’s biggest issues. Like why they didn’t make the Rolling Stone list. Did I mention we shot the promo already?

190. A Man Of Many Faces

Aziz Ansari makes a better Drake any day. Hence:

Second place is a toss up between Jay-Z Aziz Ansari, Wiz Khalifa Aziz Ansari, and Nicki Minaj Aziz Ansari. At first I thought these were album covers for a new comedy album. Then I realized it’s just Aziz being Aziz. Does this mean he’ll be hitting up the recording studio with these guys? Let’s hope so.

16. Treat. Yo. Self!

Aziz Ansari.  I ran into you during a random party I happened upon in NYC at a clothing store in SoHo.  Think it was a store filled with upscale athletic wear.  I’m assuming you were “treating yo self.”  As you should since you rock it on Parks and Recreation every Thursday night.  You also rock it at a Whole Foods aisle somewhere in America.  Check it out:
